Harassment

SO, have you seen Urban Death yet?

No?

Why not?

Because we've only had 2 shows and, besides, it's only been a couple days since I put up my first blog post about it?

Fair enough.

So, just a quick update...

I have a new favorite blog. When Vanessa from What Geeks Eat announced that she was taking some time off, I was heartbroken. She's awesome, a smart, witty writer with rockin' recipes, food-porn-y pictures and a genuinely nerdy love for genuinely nerdy things that I love too.

(Sidebar: WHYYYYY did Dualla kill herself???? Everything was going to be okay!!! She just went on a date with Apollo and everything!!! Just because Starbuck is the harbinger of death and Earth is fucked doesn't mean she's gotta die!!!)

Sorry. Don't know what happened there.

Anyhow this new blog, while light on the BSG references, appeals not only to my foodie side but also my turbo crafty side. And this lady, Amy, also seems exceptionally cool. (Why is so much cool stuff in Portland?)

I bring you Angry Chicken.

I've also resolved to learn to either knit or crochet this year. Haven't decided which.

So that goes on the list:
- Get a REAL ukulele and learn to play it
- Set up grow-lights and create an indoor garden
- Sign up for Groundlings classes at the next possible opportunity
- Make my apartment awesome (workin' on it!)
- Work with Matt on shooting "Idiot Box"
- Learn to make light, airy but crisp baguettes
- Make a rug out of Matt's old t-shirts from the Apple store
- Learn to knit/crochet... and make a blanket (I just added that part)
- Make that Paola dress on Burdastyle (ahhhh, sweet Burdastyle!)

I've got my work cut out for me.

Ooh, 20 minutes to Lost!!!

URBAN DEATH: A New Darkness

...is AWESOME, if I do say so myself...

... because I'm in that show. Yup, I'm branching out. After having seen several of the previous Urban Death shows, I decided I would go balls-out and actually be in one.

Do not be fooled. It's harder than it looks.

My buddy/ex-roomie Greg went last weekend and, as someone who has seen and been in several of these productions, he loved it. See!

Dude, LAist.com mentioned us and they hadn't even SEEN the show yet. They just KNEW it would be good and suggested that people should go.

So GO! We run through Valentine's Day. Our show is super-romantic like that.

$15 a pop. The recession's a bitch for theatre-owners too.

Sweet, sweet spaciousness

Ahhhh. I'm stretching out nicely in my newly-vacated (Bye, roomie!) space. After being scrunched up with most of what I own into a bedroom with another person for a year and some months, it feels really good. Plus, I've heard that it helps sleep-and-relaxation-wise to have your workspace separate from your sleeping space (not that it's helped at all so far, as I was up at 8:30 on a Sunday morning).

Greg's old room has been converted into "The Workshop". Not the "office" or "den". Fuck those words. This is a workshop.

Here's my corner. It makes me pretty damn happy.

God, that picture took forever to upload. I actually gave up on the one I took from another angle. I've been waiting for them, looking up crap I need at IKEA. The place is in dire need of shelving.

OH! And my new endeavor for this year is going to be an indoor garden. More on that as the story develops. Film at 11.
